Our FAER research group in KAIST study the role of financial accounting in numerous business activities such as M&A and investment. At the same time, we explore how ESG activities affect firm performance in accounting perspective.
The group consists of graduate students in school of business and technology management in KAIST.
MISSION
Through interdisciplinary(Accounting, Finance, AI) and empirical research, we explore the interplay between financial accounting and ESG activities. Specifically, we seek to investigate the extent to which corporate disclosures of ESG activities are associated with financial performance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. Our ultimate goal is to advance the understanding of the role of financial accounting in promoting sustainable and responsible business practices that create long-term value for all stakeholders, including shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment.
RESEARCH TOPIC
Our lab specializes in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of financial accounting, machine learning, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. We aim to explore innovative ways to incorporate ESG data into financial accounting using machine learning techniques, ultimately leading to better-informed business decisions and a more sustainable future.
Our goal is to provide a collaborative and inclusive environment where our lab members can explore innovative research questions, develop their skills, and contribute to important societal challenges.
